Objectives (TLWBAT):
Listened to the skeleton song while setting up.

Objectives above - plan to cover the skeletal system going from macro to micro anatomy and physiology.
POP QUIZ: Covered skin cancer investigation information.

Pasta Skeletons: Used various kinds of pasta to make model pasta skeletons.
Pasta skeletons pasted to paper and labeled. Creates visual understanding of macroscopic anatomy of the system. Student example.
Skeleton Review: Used attached powerpoint as a guide.
Learned about the skeleton: appendicular vs. axial, the 5 types of bones and 6 types of joints and their anatomy and physiology.
Skeletal System Scavenger Hunt: Putting your newly learned knowledge to the test!
Various cutouts of different types of bones and joints were spread throughout the room and you had to correctly categorize and label all the bones and joints. Everyone won prizes! Resumed pasta skeletons while I tallied points. Document of pictures and labels found here. Listened to the skeleton song again on the way out.
